Early draft of Mary Robinette Kowal's forthcoming first novel

An early draft manuscript of Mary Robinette Kowal's debut novel, Shades of Milk and Honey, forthcoming from Tor in 2010. Described as "Jane Austen with Magic," this manuscript contains deleted scenes from the final book.

Mary Robinette Kowal is the 2008 recipient of the John W. Campbell Award for Best New Writer. Her short appears in Clarkesworld Magazine, Strange Horizons, and is forthcoming in Asimov's.
